Best Singing Bowls For The Crown Chakra?
Singing bowls what do they do?
It's very common to see sound healing practitioners using three singing bowls set placed around the head area. Left, right and crown. This is called A HEADSET.
Does it have something to do with the Third Eye Chakra and the Crown Chakra? The answer is - maybe, but there is something else, that is more obvious than the speculative assumptions that it is somewhat good for chakras. Once the set of three singing bowls is assembled correctly, it can be used for the brainwave entrainment.
In this article, I would like to share the method of assembling the head set of three singing bowls. I have tested this method on hundreds of my clients and can confidently say that this is a good method. I was personalizing and modifying the sets according to the needs of a client, choosing different character of sound and speed of pulsations but overall, the technique of putting three bowls was the same.
In my opinion, there are a few important criterions that you should follow when choosing singing bowls for working with brainwave patterns.
- The fundamental tone of each bowl should NOT be higher than one of the 4th-octave notes (3rd octave is ideal. Low tones are more effective for the relaxation, but too low, such as 2nd-octave fundamentals could also carry dark characteristics or too much "grounding").
- The pulse of each bowl has to be SLOW. Ideally, you'd want to hear the systematic communication between the three members of your set. Too many overlapping beats could be disturbing (except for people with ADD).
- At least one tone of each bowl should create the binaural beats effect with the tones of the other two bowls. Example: left ear bowl first overtone 450Hz, right ear bowl first overtone 455Hz, crown bowl first overtone 460Hz or 445Hz.
- All three bowls should have the same complexity of sound. They should be close to each other in terms of character and "mood".
- All three bowls should have a long sustaining sound. You will be playing these bowls in a certain sequence (I play left bowl first, then right and the crown as last one). After you hit the last bowl your client will stay with the dissipating sound for some time. A longer pause between your strikes provides the client more time to relax before the next sequence begins to play.
- The members of the headset must be easy players. They should emit enough energy without having to strike them very hard, resting the mallet on them very gently should be enough to produce a gentle sound. You don't play the headset loudly!.
- The way I design my headsets, I choose the left bowl to be the most sustained, right and the crown bowls have less sustained sound. This way all three bowls are dissipating at the same time.
