This 17th-18th century thin-walled Jambati has a powerful, atmospheric voice. Some practitioners describe this type of bowl as shamanic because of its darker, more mysterious tonal character.
The sound is balanced, strong, and energizing, with a presence that can quickly change the feeling of the room. Because of this intensity, it is best used thoughtfully in private healing sessions, especially with sensitive clients.
The rim plays smoothly and easily, opening both low and high tones depending on the mallet and technique. Its vibration is rated M-5, making it an excellent massage bowl as well as a strong instrument for meditation, group sound work, and ceremonial practice.
